The unfortunate fate befell a woman with the initials ST (26 years) who works as an elementary school teacher in Angkinang District, Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) Regency, South Kalimantan. She will be raped by a drunken youth with the initial R (23 years).
When she was about to be raped, the victim put up a fight. However, because the perpetrator was under the influence of alcohol, the victim was then stabbed with a knife 13 times. Therefore the victim had to be rushed to the hospital for intensive care.
Chronology of Events
This incident occurred on Tuesday 11/4/2023. The victim, who was sleeping in his house at that time, was suddenly startled by the perpetrator who suddenly entered by prying open the door and breaking into the room.
The perpetrator immediately attempted rape when he saw the victim who was sleeping.
"After that, the perpetrator started trying to touch the victim. The victim immediately woke up and caught the perpetrator's hand," said Ipda Purwadi, Head of the Public Relations Section of the HSS Police on Friday 14/4/2023.
The perpetrator, who was caught by the victim, was not afraid at all and continued to carry out his actions because he was still drunk.
The perpetrator then took out a knife to threaten the victim to immediately open his underwear. The victim who felt threatened finally screamed. This scream made the perpetrator panic and then stabbed his knife up to 13 times into the victim's body.
With the remaining energy, the victim managed to snatch a knife from the hands of the perpetrator and finally fled to his family's house nearby.
Families of Victims Report Police
The victim's family did not accept it and finally reported the incident to the police. The police did not take long to catch the perpetrators because they are still in the same area.
"We caught the perpetrator while driving with his friend in South Angkinang Village. The perpetrator was arrested without putting up a fight and admitting his actions," concluded Purwadi.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 365 paragraph 2 or Article 285 junto Article 53 or Article 351 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code relating to the criminal act of attempted rape accompanied by severe maltreatment with the threat of a very heavy prison sentence.
